10 Signs You Should Invest in severely atypical mole or melanoma in situ
This is one of the most rare types of skin cancer and it’s the most important to get diagnosed and treated early.
Skin cancer is actually pretty common, but it’s very, very rare when it affects the scalp. It is only diagnosed when the tumor appears on the scalp, but that is usually quite early on. Unfortunately, it can be treated quickly and can often be completely cured in as little as eight weeks.
Moles are actually the most common skin type and are very often found in the face. They are very vascular, so they tend to grow very quickly and can look like an ugly mole that quickly spreads into the surrounding skin. They can grow anywhere, so that’s why it’s very important to get them checked out as soon as possible.
We recently found out we may have had a mole that was quite unusual and a melanoma in situ. At the time we didn’t know it was a very rare type of mole and we didn’t yet have a treatment for it. We’ll be reporting about this in the coming months.
According to a report published in the journal “The Journal of the American Association of Physicians’,” there is no such thing as a “melanoma in situ.” The term is a relatively new one that was recently added to the body of knowledge. “In a growing number of malignancies, melanoma in situ has emerged as a distinct type of non-melanoma skin cancer that is often found on the face,” the report reads.
