This is one DIY project that is both time-consuming and expensive. We’ve seen some DIY freezing systems that can be completed in a couple of days and others that take up the entire freezer space. This is a quick 3-step system that keeps the ice inside the freezer, doesn’t damage the ice, and is easy to maintain.

The basic idea here is to put an ice block, a small metal container, and a thermometer in the freezer. The ice block can be a round one, but if you want to get really cool you can use a cube. You’ll need to pour cold water into the ice block and add the thermometer. While the water is still moving, the thermometer will keep reading the freezing point.

It’s not a very expensive freeze method, and it works really well.

There are a lot of different ways to keep your ice cold without having to buy more ice. The simplest is to use a plastic ice cube tray. Place an ice cube in the tray, add some water or a little heat, and youre done. Of course, this method is simple, but it does have the disadvantage of melting the cubes.

The other method is to use a cold piece of metal such as a can or a knife to add cubes, then place the tray in the freezer to keep the cubes cold. The advantage of this method is there is no chance of melting the cubes. So you can get a lot of ice cubes in one tray without having to buy the expensive plastic ones.

The other disadvantage is the cubes get cold and stick to the bottom of the tray instead of running off.

Since the cubes are cold enough to be frozen, this method is probably best for cubes that are frozen solid, such as the ice cubes in this video. But it does have some downsides, namely melting cubes in cold environments can be a pain.
